With the support of MKN’s Dr. Sandy Youmans and the University of Denver’s Dr. Douglas H. Clements the team of 8 educators, 4 RECE’s and 4 OCT’s, is currently compiling its 45 one-page lessons with illustrative video clips and downloadable resources into a digital handbook. The resource is currently titled “45 Activities Promoting Spatial Orientation and Visualization.” The activities are aligned with Dr. Douglas H. Clements’ and Dr. Julie Sarama’s early mathematics learning trajectories.

The first stop for the lessons was Denver University, where Dr. Clements and Sarama’s team of post-doctoral fellows and Ph.D. candidates are preparing them for inclusion on their free, open access educator site,www.learningtrajectories.org . Meanwhile, the team is preparing its work to submitto its funder, the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board through the Teacher Learning and Leadership Program (TLLP).

The team presented a sample of its lessons to an appreciate audience of instructional leadership consultants and educators at a workshop at OAME 2019. Once the team has submitted its document to its district school board it plans to share its resource widely including with MKN.
