Fostering inclusion

Some groups are more marginalized than others when it comes to mathematics education including Indigenous learners, newcomers to Canada, girls, and children with learning and socio-economic challenges. In alignment with priority areas of Ontario’s Renewed Math Strategy for improving student engagement, and equity of outcomes and well-being for marginalized students, we will aim to enhance learning and participation opportunities for marginalized learners. The aim is to work collaboratively to identify and enhance strategies to strengthen marginalized students’ performance in mathematics, and the practices of teachers, including special education teachers, who support these students.
